The DOD Rubberneck Analog Delay in conjunction with the Old Blood Noise Endeavors Expression Ramper is a mesmerizing and wonderful pedal combination. If you were looking for a Chase Bliss Audio Thermae, but are not willing to pay the high price for one, don’t worry no more, this is the solution. Not only more affordable but with a higher degree of getting the sounds you want in the time frame you want. If you have ever tried to get to grips with the sequencer part of the Thermae, you will notice how tough that can be trying to dial in the sound and time you want. If you connect the OBNE expression ramper with the FS3X-footswitch input (with a TRS-cable), the lfo of the expression ramper will let you adjust the rubberneck function of the DOD rubberneck delay. Rubbernecking will let you adjust the speed of the delay time 2x, either slower or faster. If you listen and watch the video above you will hear what I’m talking about.

The equipment used:

DOD Rubberneck Analog Delay

The DOD Rubberneck is a true bypass all analog delay stomp box with a lot of extras. It delivers a stunning 1.5 seconds of warm analog delay, which is a lot for an all analog delay. Another thing that is quite uncommon to analog delays is a tap tempo with a tap division toggle. Furthermore you will also get a tone and gain control in a concentric knob and a wonderful sounding modulation which you can adjust the depth and rate of, also in a concentric knob. There is also a toggle which lets you choose wether you want to kill your dry signal and the delay tails on or off. Of course you also adjust the Time, Repeats (feedback) and the Level. The two lights on the pedal are also knobs that let you adjust the “rubbernecking” function and the regen (self oscillation) with the push on one of the buttons. Another great function is the availability of an FX loop, every effect or chain of effects you place in the FX loop will only affect the repeats of the delay, keeping your dry signal intact. With the optional FS3X foot-switch you will have the option of instant “rubbernecking”, tap-tempo and regen(self-oscillation) on remote. If you are looking for a warm sounding delay filled to the rim with all these wonderful options, think no further the DOD Rubberneck Analog Delay might well be the right choice for you.

OBNE Expression Ramper

Do you have an effect with an expression pedal input and want to be able to easily switch between two different settings? Than here is the solution in the form of the Old Blood Noise Endeavors Expression Ramper. With the aid of this parameter mover you can set two different parameters of where to start and end the expression (like heel and toe) in an A and B parameter. When you have set this you can than set on how to move from A to B and B to A. If you choose the triangle setting it ramps gradually from A to B and the rate knob defines the tempo on which this takes place. The square setting lets you jump directly from A to B, again the tempo defined by the rate knob. The jack output can also be adjusted for TRS, TS or TRS with reversed polarity. So this ramper can do things your normal expression pedal can’t. Give your effects with expression input a second life and discover new sounds in those pedals you have not heard before as it is an extra LFO regulator for your effect.
