You will get the original inspired sound of the DC-2 when switching to the “S” setting. Just like the original this modulation pedal has the same 4 mode selector switches. While the electronics have gotten a heavy upgrade compared to the original, you will now have access to a bunch more sounds you could never get with the original. Also the buffer and bypass circuitry have gotten a major update.

DC-2W Dimension C: a fivefold of sound dimensions

Beside the original 4 chorus sounds of the DC-2 of the aforementioned mode selector switches, you will now have 20 spheric sounds to your disposal. The other 16 super nice modulation sounds you can get with pushing combination of engaged switches. This is possible by pushing two mode selector switches at once. 6. Walrus Audio Julianna Stereo Chorus/Vibrato

Let me introduce you to the big sister of Julia, Julianna. Like Julia it is build on bringing you the same wonderful lush tonal soundscapes the pedal is known for, but with some very nice extras and now in stereo operation. Julianna is all analog with a digital LFO, stereo chorus/vibrato. As she is the bigger sister she also boasts some nifty new tricks, with a secondary LFO speed, modulation drift and tap/expression control and a very nice momentary features which will give control over new kind of sounds not traditionally found in other chorus pedals. The pedal gives you a stereo in and out as well as an expression input.

7. Neunaber Inspire Tri-Chorus Plus

The Neunaber Inspire Tri Chorus Plus is a pedal inspired on the Dytronics and Songbird Tri Stereo Chorus studio rack-effects from the  80’s. These effects were at that time so incredibly expensive but they became the industry standard for recording electric guitar, bass and piano.

The Tri Chorus has the spirit and the sound of both these rack effects and has a great palet of fantastic stereo rich chorus effects. There are eight different effects, all of them of a very high quality. There are different combinations of tri chorus, both in series or parallel. There are also combination sounds available, that combine the tri chorus with a vibrato, echo or a vibe  So many different effects of high quality in a small footprint is really remarkable.

The Neunaber Inspire has an extremely low signal to noise ratio with enormous headroom. The mix knob allows for mixing the dry signal with the wet signal, which goes from 100% dry to 100% wet signal. Furthermore the Neunaber Inspire also has a true bypass switch with a relais which is the best way of bypassing a effect like this type.

Technical data:

  • Modes: Chorus
  • Current Draw: 80 mA
  • Nominal in- and output level: 20 dBu
  • In- en output impedance: 1M ohm

8. Electro Harmonix Neo Clone Chorus

The EHX Small Clone chorus was made famous because it was the favorite chorus of Kurt Cobain. If you ever listened to Nirvana’s Come As You Are, you will now know where that sound was coming from. This EHX Neo Clone is the small updated version of the EHX Small Stone chorus, It is in essence the most simple chorus there is, one knob for the rate and one switch for depth. It is still an all analog designed chorus with a nice BBD chip. Many EHX pedals have a reputation of creating over the top sounds, it is no exception here, although it is still possible to turn in a subtle chorus sound.

Technical data:

  • Modes: Chorus
  • Current Draw: 12 mA
  • Nominal in- and output level: 20 dBu
  • In- en output impedance: 1M ohm

9. Old Blood Noise Endeavors Reflector V.3

Do you love these rich chorus sounds and do you want a stompbox that can let you dive deep into the modulation hole? We hereby present you with the Old Blood Noise Endeavors Reflector V.3 the chorus for the final frontier. In this pedal you will have three basic sounds to choose from with the aid of a three-way toggle switch at the center of the pedal. The three sounds are described as Wrinkle, Washed and Mirrors. With Wrinkle you will get a chorus that’s more vibrato like with an added octave lower or higher effect. Or would you rather choose the Washed option for a classic chorus sound with a little layer of reverb for the modulation? Or are you the adventurous type and choose Mirrors, where a lightly detuned chorus is mixed with a flanger. The still classic knobs for controlling the modulation depth and speed are still available in the form of the RATE and DEPTH control. Modulate will let you control the amount of modulation and with the MIX knob you can control the relation between the dry and effected sound.

10. JHS 3 Series Chorus

This chorus is both elegantly minimalistic and simplistic in operation. This JHS series 3 chorus is just like all the other JHS 3 series pedals fitted with only 3 knobs and a switch in a no-nonsense super sturdy housing. While it seems minimalistic and simplistic it does not mean that it has limitations as the pedal can deliver super deep and wide chorus sounds. When the vibe switch is enabled it will remove your dry signal, which than leaves you with an wonderful lush sounding pitch-shifted vibrato. The JHS series 3 pedals are designed to give you these nice simplistic operations but with top quality sound in a sturdy and affordable case and are made in the U.S.A. at the JHS facility in Kansas City.
